Mediocre avoid-the-shit game.

Good:
+ Skill based rather than luck based, in that the shit always comes right at you.
+ The bacon looks appetizing. Mmm, dead pig meat.

Bad:
- Boring as hell and repetitive. If this really is a remake, I hope you have better material than this.

Suggestions:
- Add power ups
- Different shape/speed of the bacon (not all bacon is created equal)
- Upgrades? I'm reaching here.

Verdict: 2/5, 3/10. It's okay.

VioletVulpine responds:

Yeah I suppose. I mainly made this to flex my flash "muscles".

Decent game but I played it with an Xbox 360 controller and I found the inverted Y axis to be annoying. An option to turn that off would be great.

Also, the random fireballs from the sky seem way too hard to avoid. Maybe an indicator on the ground of where they will hit would help.

Verdict: 7/10, 4/5

AntKarlov responds:

It seems that in some driver versions of gamepad axis can be inverted. I'll add the option to invert the axes in the game.

Meteorites have a visual indicator that indicates where the meteorite will fall, as well as an audible warning. Probably you have not seen it :)

Thanks for feedback!

UPD: In the version 1.3 added invert Y-axis option to the pause screen. Thanks again! :)

Simple upgrade game with a few flaws. Although it's enjoyable, it suffers from its own simplicity and randomness.

The Good:
+ Addictive shooter game with a nice Halloween feel and fitting music.
+ The recoil system is a very nice touch and sets it apart from similar games in the genre.
+ It gets intense picking what to shoot at later on. Some actual thought goes into what you should shoot first, rather than most shooters that just emphasize shooting everything as close as possible as fast as possible.

The Bad:
- The bonuses are completely random. This has been touched on by others, but it really is the biggest fault with this game. The harder sections can be passed with brute skill, but you will need luck sooner or later to get a slow, shield or preferably a bomb.
- Presentation is poor. I get the feeling this game was built on game-play and not on flashy effects, but this area could use a bit of work nonetheless.
- I did find one (minor) glitch. You need to have more money than what is required to buy an upgrade. IE: to buy a $3000 upgrade, you strangely need to have $3001 to buy it, but will be charged the correct $3000. Again, very minor glitch but it can be tedious for those that encounter it.

Verdict: 7/10, 3/5

Daggietainment responds:

Thanks for taking the time to write a decent review, it's really helpfull. I'll make work of that glitch later today. I'm happy you pointed it.

Sorry, but this was shockingly bad.

The Good:
+The concept was interesting, I'll give you that.

The Bad:
- Graphics are terrible, the "bullets" don't even shoot out of the gun and when you aim left the gun is upside down? lol.
- It was extremely easy. I'm colorblind so I just spammed shift and left mouse key to kill everything. I didn't die once.
- Level design was very poor. It didn't offer a challenge at all and level 6 wasn't even a level!

Thanks for the medal.

Verdict: 1/5, 2/10

thePalindrome responds:

Heh, at least you stuck till the end!

I know there are issues with the graphics, sorry about that!
I couldn't figure out how to make the game difficult while still making it easy to kill stuff!
I'm not a very good level designer, as you can tell.

You are welcome :P

Good. Medals work, nice artwork, and it's sufficiently creepy.

Got to rate it in the top 25% of games in this year's Stencyl Jam even though its not terribly original.

Verdict: 3/5, 7/10.

Satyre responds:

Thanks for commenting and rating.

27. Tap X and win -> Fail the sentence -> Heads
28. Tap X and win -> Type the sentence -> Let time run out
29. Tap X and win -> Type the sentence -> Beat the challenge (This one is worth 100 points!)

I'm guessing 29 is worth 10x more because you have to beat every single challenge (Womb, then bus, typing the sentence, and beating the bear).

Great game, props on this one.

Verdict: 4/5, 9/10

FrozenFire responds:

You. Are. Amazing. Thanks ;)

Great game, although character progression feels excruciatingly slow. The interface is one of the best I've ever seen - a lot of thought clearly went into the item system. The character balance seems off, the mage characters don't do enough damage for being so squishy and rangers make better healers than clerics which I found quite strange. The melee characters do more damage and are much tougher to kill.

As an aside, the medals don't work. Please fix.

Verdict: 4/5, 8/10

garin-dan responds:

Oops, the medals worked in testing. Fixed now.

Above average rhythm game. Pretty damned fun but hard as hell too.

I checked and even the game creator doesn't have all the medals! I'm ranked 1770/52521 and I can't get more than 24 stars. I'm guessing the other 50,000 people just gave when they saw the first level because getting into the top 10% medal was a cake walk.

Also, I'm pretty sure the # of stars you get is actually based on the number of perfect notes you hit, not your overall score. So try to focus on hitting perfect notes and don't pay attention to the multiplier.

And as somebody below me said, right click for the secret achievement.

Verdict: 4/5, 9/10

ZEGMAN responds:

Thanks man
You're right, the stars are based on hidden points you get when you hit the notes, perfect is 5 points, good is 3, ok is 2, bad is 1.
Then at the end of the songs, the hidden score determines your stars.

Alright for a cheesy little game, but it loses its value fast at around South Carolina (level 30) because the only viable tactic becomes bazooka and power up spam.

Paying money for the improved power ups is fine and well, since its essentially a 'bonus' for donating. I take issue to paying for the lives though, that seems sleezy. Yes, I know you can wait for the lives but that's incredibly boring.

Paying for a top tier weapon like a minigun would've been a better idea IMO, and scrap the lives altogether.

ErebosGames responds:

Thanks for the review! I especially appreciate your feedback on purchasing power-ups vs lives. I also like the idea of a top tier weapon.

Great idea.

The Good:
+Using buttons instead of clicking is a cool idea.
+The interface is very slick, and easy to understand.
+The music track makes for some sick remixes!

The Bad:
-Could use more sound clips. "This Review", "This Game", "Is So", "How is this an", "R", "P", "G", "Anyway" would all be nice. I'm sure there are more, but this is just off the top of my head.
-It'd be great to have an option to play the song used in the film in the background.

Final Words: Great idea, great execution, just begging for a few additions.

Verdict: 4/5

RicePirate responds:

If it was a larger scale project, I'd actually want to get the animations of the words to play :P
